SUMMARY

"He owns you. Whatever he tells you to do you do".

One year. No future. A past that won't go away.

Lennox "Nox" Demetri broke his own rule by making a deal. It may not have been directly with the devil, but that doesn't mean Satan himself isn't watching. Was it fate that brought Charli into his life and his bed? What will happen when rules are broken and secrets are revealed?

"New rules...my rules."

Alex "Charli" Collins found pleasure with Nox like she'd never known. That was before she knew his last name. Now that Infidelity is involved and the rules have changed, what will result when real life and fantasy collide?

Is it really cheating if you're doing it to yourself?

MY REVIEW

The book starts with Charli surrendering herself, her life and her decisions to Nox. Nox looks powerful, merciless and extremely angry with Charli. He does not allow her to call him Nox, but Mr. Demetri and he insists that she should be thankful for everything he gives her, even if it is painful.

"New rules…my rules. You should say thank you"

Charli on the other hand does not know what happened to Nox, her prince from Del Mar. How did he transform to a monster and a complete jerk?
In the beginning she loses her footing and her thinking is totally unstable.

“Figure it out? I feel like I’m being thrown to the wolves.”

But soon the rules of the game will change again. Nox will not be able to be so angry for much longer and Charli will feel more confident.

These two will have to fight themselves to prove their feelings and their trust. It will not be easy. The people who surround them, especially Charli’s family, will have their own reasons to separate them.

Old secrets are coming to light (at least for the readers) and it is time for Nox and Charli to share a few truths. Unfortunately nobody is safe.

The writing is once more superb. There are three points of view: Charli's POV, Nox's and Adelaide's.
My first comment is that I don't like Adelaide (Charli's mother) and I hate being inside her head and listening to her reasoning and her excuses. It was painful.
But I suppose I am okay with her sharing her secrets, because the book is written in first person, thus only the older generation can tell the background information. Nox and Charli are too young to be present to the things that had happened 30 years ago.

My final comment is that Nox is YUMMY and that Charli/Alexandra/Alex is a LUCKY PRINCESS!
