The Krinar Captive (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
Emily Ross never
expected to survive her deadly fall in the Costa Rican jungle, and she
certainly never thought she’d wake up in a strangely futuristic
dwelling, held captive by the most beautiful man she’d ever seen. A man
who seems to be more than human…
Zaron is on Earth to facilitate
the Krinar invasion—and to forget the terrible tragedy that ripped
apart his life. Yet when he finds the broken body of a human girl,
everything changes. For the first time in years, he feels something more
than rage and grief, and Emily is the reason for that. Letting her go
would compromise his mission, but keeping her could destroy him all over
again.
MY REVIEW
WARNING: Huge fan's / Fanatic follower's opinion here
I have to confess that I had “Krinar fever” during its release day. You know the usual symptoms:
Sweating hands, Shivering, Loss of appetite and a few Hallucinations
about hunky Krinars. It is a good thing I remained functional to the
outside world for a small part of the day.
I had an
absolutely fantastic time reading “the Krinar Captive”. I jumped into it
like a thirsty woman in the desert would gladly jump into a cold
stream.
I admit that I really have a soft spot for good
looking nerds/scientists. Zaron is unearthly beautiful and a total nerd.
A BIOLOGIST WITH AN EXTRA SPECIALIZATION IN EDAPHOLOGY with superman
powers. Do I need to say more? I am already his.
Zaron saves
Emily after she accidently and stupidly makes herself fall from a jungle
bridge. He takes her home, he glues her back together and then he plans
to keep her there for as long as he wants. He saves her, so she belongs
to him. Right?
Eh...wrong. Emily does not behave like a
well-mannered, well-fed pet. After the initial shock, she wants to
leave. Of course she slowly realizes that he will not let her go. His
protectiveness and his lust will move things forward. Soon they are
doing exactly what a male and a female attracted to each other, alone in
the Costa Rican jungle are supposed to be doing.
The last part
of the book describes the chaos after the alien invasion, the stupidness
and cruelness of humans and the heroic behavior of Zaron: Zaron strong,
fast, fresh from the fight, larger than life, sweeps Emily off her feet
(Thank you Bonnie Tyler for the soundtrack), grabs what is his and
takes off. Oh, Yeah!
P.S.1 I don’t normally make requests in my
reviews, but this time I really have to make one. Can we please have a
story with a female Krinar and a male human?
P.S. 2 It was nice having Zaron and Korum working together
Close Remembrance (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
When a ruthless enemy
finally strikes, Mia and Korum will face the biggest test of their
relationship yet. But it’s Korum’s own secrets that may ultimately tear
them apart.
From the beaches of Costa Rica to a planet in a distant galaxy, theirs is a love story that may change the world . . .
MY REVIEW
Korum and Mia and the conclusion of their
story in the Krinar Chronicles.
A very
enjoyable and engaging story, which I read in one sitting.
The
mysterious Krinar traitor has created more questions than answers.
Fortunately everything will fall into place and very soon Mia and Korum
will have to worry only about their future together and Mia’s memory
loss.
There is an arena fight, in which we realize that although
Krinar are advanced, they are still a bit Neanderthal and old fashioned
at heart. Anyway, Korum is once more magnificent.
We finally get
to see the Krinar’s planet when Mia and her family flight there. The
descriptions of the planet have the quality of a great old-fashioned
Sci-Fi book.
The end of the story maybe is too optimistic, but I am happy with that.
Close Obsession (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
In Lenkarda – the main
Krinar colony on Earth – Mia is completely at Korum's mercy. With no way
to leave and no idea how to operate even the most basic Krinar
technology, she has no choice but to trust the K who brought her there –
the lover whom she had betrayed.
Will he keep his promise to
bring her home, or is she destined to be his prisoner forever? Can a
human become a part of Krinar society? Does Korum love her, or does he
only wish to possess her?
MY REVIEW
Mia is completely in
Korum's mercy, after her betrayal and the shocking events in the last part
of the previous book. New York is left behind and the two of them start
their new life in Lenkarda, the main Krinar colony on Earth in Puerto
Rico.
I loved the book and how the relationship of the main
characters develops. Their devotion and love grows. Although the
wounds from Mia’s betrayal run deep, she is somewhat forgiven. Korum is
older and wiser. He knows that these younglings behave sometimes without
thinking. As a result, Korum offers her the ultimate gift and he makes
her immortal.
I absolutely LOVED Korum in this book and he is forgiven for his behavior in the previous book!
Mia is not that naïve any more. But she still needs improvement!
We also learn a bit more about
-the Krinar society and their advance technology. Lots of creative and detailed descriptions.
-how lucky the girls are if they have a Krinar lover.
Close Liaisons (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
In the near future, the
Krinar rule the Earth. An advanced race from another galaxy, they are
still a mystery to us – and we are completely at their mercy.
Shy
and innocent, Mia Stalis is a college student in New York City who has
led a very normal life. Like most people, she’s never had any
interactions with the invaders – until one fateful day in the park
changes everything. Having caught Korum’s eye, she must now contend with
a powerful, dangerously seductive Krinar who wants to possess her and
will stop at nothing to make her his own.
How far would you go
to regain your freedom? How much would you sacrifice to help your
people? What choice will you make when you begin to fall for your enemy?
MY REVIEW
Although
this is an Alien hunk-meets-Earth girl romance, the events take place
in Earth and particularly in New York. No Deep Space here. There is an
Earth Invasion you see...
Korum and Moira meet 5 years after the
first time one of the Aliens introduced himself to US president. Korum is
ecstatic to meet her at the park, while Mia wants to run away and
scream.
Basically this is how their story rolls. Korum is pushy,
territorial, bossy, cruel and a jerk sometimes, but Mia is his and she
needs to understand this.
Mia is scared to death, virginal, defensive and a crybaby sometimes who has no clue what this hot alien wants from her.
Their
passion will be over the top. Mia will be pampered, looked after, fed
properly (Korum keeps cooking these tasty, healthy salads and sandwiches
just for her) and she will be his.
She has no other choice actually.
She will become his sex toy and she will be introduced in his world of
passion. Certain things scare her like his craving for blood during sex
act (she will overcome her fear about his vampiric tendencies soon and she will enjoy
them) and their age difference maybe.
Okay, he is much older than
her (a couple of thousand years older), cleverer than her (he has
designed the vessels that brought his people to Earth) and richer than her
(he owns the company which creates the vessels).
Little innocent,
student Mia is overwhelmed. Plus she is warned that now she will be his
slave, he will never let her go and he will make her disappear.
To
be honest I did not like the two main characters very much when I
started this series. I wanted to punch Korum a couple of times. He
behaves like a patronized, arrogant – I know everything- asshole. And he
probably knows everything, but this is not my point! Mia on the other
hand is truly a baby, easily manipulated by both her alien and her
friends. Not my thing.
I gave 5 stars actually when I finished all three books and I saw several things I liked i.e.:
-how their relationship proceeded through the three books
-how Korum explained himself and his behavior.
And
the world building is amazing: Aliens have conquered the Earth
peacefully and they are teaching them medicine and technology to improve
their lives.
Swept Away (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
When Delia sees the
naked man emerging from the stormy sea, she knows he must be more than
human. Gorgeous and powerful, the god-like stranger saves her from
certain death, but his rescue comes at a price: herself.
Swept Away is about the
start of Arus & Delia’s relationship in Ancient Greece.
It can be
read as a standalone or after the Krinar Chronicles trilogy.
MY REVIEW
Somewhere
in Ancient Greece, a long long time ago, an unearthly handsome Greek
God emerges from the sea. Arus saves Delia from the storm and their love
story begins.
A few misunderstandings between them:
-Delia wants to sacrifices a goat for him, Arus is a vegetarian.
-Her village is on the west, he takes her to the east.
-She thinks he is God, he is just a Krinar who has been swimming.
It
is really funny that Arus makes Delia believe that she has the choice
of not following him. I am sure everyone can realize that he would have
never let her go.
The rest of their story and their HEA can be
found between lines in Close Obsession and Close Remembrance (The Krinar
Chronicles II and III).

The X-Club (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
A young journalist. An alien sex club. A Krinar who won’t take no for an answer.
Amy
Myers is tired of writing fluff. She wants to work on serious
assignments—and what better way to prove herself than to uncover
something new about the mysterious Krinar, the aliens who took over the
Earth just two years earlier? But when she meets Vair, the dark and sexy
owner of a Manhattan x-club, she may get more than she bargained for...
The X-Club is set in the world of the Krinar Chronicles
about three years before Mia & Korum’s trilogy. It’s an erotic
story, not a romance.
It can be read as a standalone or after the Krinar
Chronicles trilogy.
MY REVIEW
Amy
is a young journalist who is just asking for trouble. Together with her
friend Jay decide to visit an X-club, 'X' for 'xenos' where Krinar use
to go to hook up and dance with other Krinars and humans Krinar lovers.
Her main objective is to write an article about Krinars but she ends up
in the arms of the possessive Vair instead.
The book can be an interested introduction in the story of earth after Krinar invasion.
Or it is also enjoyable if you already have read the 'close liason' trilogy and you have got addicted to this world like I did.
By
the end of this book, I felt that there was more to come in the story of
Amy and Vair. Like it was the start and not the end of their story. I
wish the book was longer and more complete.
Claim Me (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
She’s on the run.
Yulia
Tzakova’s freedom comes at a heavy price. Her former captor dominates
her dreams, and survival consumes her waking moments. She may have
escaped, but she’s far from safe.
In the shadowy world of spies and betrayal, nothing is what it seems.
He’s obsessed with getting her back.
Lucas
Kent’s rage knows no bounds. The danger of his job occupies his days,
but hunting down Yulia is what he lives for. When he finds her, she’ll
never escape again.
He’ll do whatever it takes to keep her.
MY REVIEW
Straight 5 stars of course.
Nothing less for this trilogy all together!
Once
more I was blown away with this amazing and fabulous story. Yulia has
escaped, but she realizes it was not a good idea after all.
Furious
Lucas storms after her as soon as his job lets him. He is ready to
avenge her and her lover. Basically he plans to kill her lover with a
very slow painful death and take her back to his home and keep her
forever and ever.
And then he will be surprised when he realizes that there is no lover, but just a cocky teenager kid.
After
lots of bombs and gun shots and fire and running, Lucas and Yulia end
up together again and they try to make sense of their situation and what
it means.
I absolutely loved this couple. They were incredible
together. There was passion, possessiveness, jealousy and unquestionable
love in a very twisted way.
Maybe Rosa’s story will be next?
Bind Me (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
He’s determined to break her.
For
Lucas Kent, his new prisoner is a maddening contradiction: compliant
yet defiant, fragile yet strong. He needs to uncover her secrets, but
doing so may ruin everything.
His obsession could destroy her.
She’s determined to escape.
For
Yulia Tzakova, her captor is the man of both her dreams and her
nightmares: tender one moment, cruel the next. She can’t let him crack
her, but resisting him may leave her broken.
A moment of weakness could cost her everything.
MY REVIEW
Yes,
Lucas is not a nice man. He is possessive and obsessed and he has set
his eyes on beautiful spy Yulia. In this book, she is now at his mercy.
Their love story is so screwed up but so interesting and wild at the
same time that you absolutely cannot stop reading.
There is a lot of
misunderstandings and mistrust between the two of them. There are family
secrets that Yulia is hiding and when she confesses a part of them to
Lucas, he gets everything twisted and wrong.
The book picks up where events in book one ended.
The story in second book ends with a cliffhanger but it is one you saw coming. So, you will not be surprised.
Keep third book close to you!
Capture Me (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
She fears him from the first moment she sees him.
Yulia
Tzakova is no stranger to dangerous men. She grew up with them. She
survived them. But when she meets Lucas Kent, she knows the hard
ex-soldier may be the most dangerous of them all.
One
night—that’s all it should be. A chance to make up for a failed
assignment and get information on Kent’s arms dealer boss. When his
plane goes down, it should be the end.
Instead, it's just the beginning.
He wants her from the first moment he sees her.
Lucas
Kent has always liked leggy blondes, and Yulia Tzakova is as beautiful
as they come. The Russian interpreter might’ve tried to seduce his boss,
but she ends up in Lucas’s bed—and he has every intention of seeing her
there again.
Then his plane goes down, and he learns the truth.
She betrayed him.
Now she will pay.
MY REVIEW
Lucas is dangerous. Lucas is second in command man of Julian, a notorious arms dealer.
He
first notices Yulia when she serves as a translator during a meeting
between his boss and some Russian contacts. Later she sleeps with him,
she betrays both Lucas and Julian and as a result there is a plane crash
and the death of at least 40 men.
Lucas becomes obsessed with her.
In the beginning he decides to keep her just to interrogate her, but
later she becomes more important than the air he breaths. Everything
inside him scream SHE IS MINE, MINE MINE!
He becomes possessive and
protective but he hates her at the same time and he does not trust her.
Because of her a lot of his brothers in arms have died.
Yulia besides
being a spy, she also has personal secrets. Secrets which involve a
teenager brother. A brother who she is trying to keep safe and alive.
The
book ends with a cliffhanger. Keep the second and the third book close
to you because I am sure you will dive in as soon as you finish the
first one.
This is a spin off from Twist me series. Thus some events
will be overlapping with the other trilogy, especially the second book
“Keep Me” and the third book “Hold Me” – although the events in these
books will be expanded to show the development of the relationship
between Lucas and Yulia.
Thus, I recommend you read Twist Me beforehand which by the way it is also a great trilogy by the same author.
Hold Me (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
Captor and captive. Lovers. Soulmates.
We’re all that and more.
We thought we were past the worst of it. We thought we finally had a chance.
We thought wrong.
We’re Nora and Julian, and this is our story.
MY REVIEW
Julian’s POV: “My captive. My wife. My entire world. I will love her to the end of time, and I will never, ever let her go.”
Nora’s POV: “My moral compass has been gradually tilting off-course, and I’ve been letting it happen.”
This
series started as the dark story of an innocent young girl’s abduction.
The last book of the series “Hold Me” does not really resemble the
first book “Twist Me”. The story is still dark, but in the last book it
looks more like a big adventure with Hollywood standards. Lots of
gunshots, car chasing, mafia, corrupted police etc.
Nora has changed.
She has embraced her husband’s world. She has accepted the killings,
the torturing, and the importance of cruelness.
Julian has changed.
He has adapted to the needs of his wife. He wants not only to satisfy
his needs, but also to make her happy.
There will be a happy ending. And this is the point where you will forgive Julian completely.
Keep Me (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
Abducted at eighteen. Held captive for 15 months.
It
reads like one of those headlines. And yes, I did it. I stole her.
Nora, with her long dark hair and silky skin. She’s my weakness, my
obsession.
I’m not a good man. I never pretended to be one. She can love me, but she can’t change me.
I can, however, change her.
My name is Julian Esguerra, and Nora is mine to keep.
MY REVIEW
“Will you ever let me go?” I murmur, remembering our long-ago conversation. His lips twitch in a faint smile. He remembers too.
“No,” he replies softly. “Never.” We lie in silence for a few moments, and then he asks quietly, “Do you want me to let you go?”
“No, Julian.” I close my eyes, a smile curving my own lips. “Never.”
15 months later.
Julian Esguerra and Nora Esguerra as husband and wife.
The twisted fairytale continues in Colombia to Julian’s childhood estate.
Nora
cannot escape and she learns to adapt as the lady of Julian’s empire.
Guns and humidity. Far away from her family and surrounded by criminals
and faithful employees of the gun lord.
Julian, still a control
freak, continues to have endless power over Nora and to manipulate her
nonstop while Nora becomes addicted to him.
Two points of view in this book. We start realizing how Julian is thinking and how much he is also addicted to Nora.
Once again you will feel for Nora, but you will be ready to forgive also Julian.
Twist Me (Anna Zaires)
SUMMARY
Kidnapped. Taken to a private island.
I never thought this could happen to me. I never imagined
one chance meeting on the eve of my eighteenth birthday could change my
life so completely.
Now I belong to him. To Julian. To a man who
is as ruthless as he is beautiful—a man whose touch makes me burn. A
man whose tenderness I find more devastating than his cruelty.
My
captor is an enigma. I don’t know who he is or why he took me. There is
a darkness inside him—a darkness that scares me even as it draws me in.
My name is Nora Leston, and this is my story.
MY REVIEW
“He turns me inside out, takes me apart, and puts me back together—all in the span of one night.”
An isolated private small island.
An obsessive stalker, arms dealer and soon an abductor.
An
18 years old girl, loved by her family who just finished high school
and soon an abductee with Stockholm Syndrome in development
Rape,
physical and emotional abuse because Julian Esguerra has chosen Nora
Leston and Nora has to be transformed and to reach certain standards set
by Julian. She has to be molded into someone to please him.
This
is not a love story – at least it will not start as a love story. It is
somehow dark (not exaggeratingly really) and twisted. Julian is the man
you love to hate and Nora is his victim. You will feel for Nora, but
you will be ready to forgive also Julian.
This June, I would like to focus on two awesome worlds created by Anna Zaires.
1. The world where Julian Esguerra is the boss and Nora Leston is his victim and his future wife.
This is series Twist me.
In this world Lucas Kent is Julian's faithful employee and Yulia Tzakova is firstly an enemy, secondly a victim and lastly a lover.
This is series Capture me.
2. The world where aliens have conquered Earth and Korum is the handsome Alien with the powers of an absolute God and Mia Stalis is a human girl that will be firstly Korum's victim and later on his consort.
Krinars Zaron, Vair and Arus will also have their own stories to tell which are taking place at the same world.
This is the series The Krinar Chronicles
