Fidelity (Aleatha Romig)
SUMMARY
She thought she could save those she loved.
He thought he could save her.
They'll both learn the truth.
FIDELITY, the dramatic conclusion to the epic five-novel series INFIDELITY, following Lennox "Nox" Demetri, Alexandria "Charli" Collins, the Montagues, Demetris, Fitzgeralds, and Spencers is finally here.
When the vows are complete and the dust settles, who will be left standing?
No one is safe, and no alliance is above suspicion in the much-anticipated finale to this hot romantic-suspense saga. Our heroine has survived betrayal, cunning, deception, and entrapment…what will happen when she’s faced with fidelity?
Infidelity, it isn't what you think.
MY REVIEW
After the emotional rollercoaster, the ups and the downs and the heartbreaking moments of the previous four books...
...I DEVOURED EACH SENTENCE AND EACH WORD of Fidelity.
Yes I will miss this absolutely crazy world!
I will miss the Montagues, Collins, Demetris, Spencers, and Fitzgeralds – although I have a feeling that more books are coming.
Sometimes the last book of the series tends to be an extended epilogue, where everyone is ecstatic and happy and all the problems are solved one by one.
Not this book.
Fidelity will not be an easy ride for Charli and Nox and for Adelaide and Oren. The twists and turns will continue all the way through the book:
1. There is a wedding going on the last pages of Entrapment. Will the wedding be stopped? If yes, does it really matter? Apparently Charli is already married.
Eh, excuse me, WHAT? This is a mystery that will continue for a large proportion of the book.
2. There is also a rescue mission. The Demetris (father and son) need to save the three women who are in the claws of the Fitzgeralds (father and son). I was honestly sweating until I found out about the results.
For me the rescue of Adelaide from the mental hospital was the most tear-jerking event. Somehow the story of Oren and Adelaide manages to steal the show in this final book.
“I-I know you told me to leave… I respected your wishes… I understand that you hate me… You should… I just… I’ve told you…” He took another step closer. “Once I love, I can’t stop. Those I love, I must protect.”
Oh, Oren…
3. The story will be between Savannah and New York. Nox and Charli will be constantly on a plane going back and forth. Charli needs peace and quiet and Nox needs revenge from Alton and Bryce:
“I want him dead,” I confessed. “I want them both to be, and I want to be the one to do it.” I flexed the knuckles of my free hand. “I want them to know fear.”
4. Then, there are so many thorns in the happiness and so many secrets that most of the main characters still do not know anything about. And they are so important for the plot. 5 more books could be written based on these secrets when they see the light.
-who killed Collins, the father of Charli and ex husband of Adelaide?
-who shot Charli and Nox at the park
-who is the son of Alton
5. There will be still crazy dialogues where Alton and Susanna have obviously lost it:
“No, that’s where you’re wrong. It’s your world and your mother’s that is crumbling. My world is intact. This is Savannah. I rule Savannah.”
I must confess that I was laughing out loud with most of these dialogues.
6. Nox may have honor, but he is not entirely a good man. Oren may have his own ethics, but he is definitely not a good man. There is mafia involved and the trust and respect to the greater family. The trust and respect can bring both Oren and his son down and destroy them or they can find an anchor in Nox’ mother’s family.
7. I felt satisfied with the punishment of Suzanna Spencer, Bryce Spencer, Alton Fitzgerald.
I did not feel satisfied with the responsibility of Magnolia Woods. I wanted people from there to be punished, especially Dr. Miller.
8. And there is this last secret that Charli is keeping from Nox in the end. Thank God she does not keep it a secret for long. After that, everything is in order.
My princess, he mouthed.
My Batman, I returned.
