Lion Eyes (Jennifer Ashley)
SUMMARY
Bree has just decided to give up trying to be a Shifter groupie when a lion Shifter slams into her truck and tells her to drive. Seamus is on the run from hunters, other Shifters, and who knows who else. All Bree knows is that he’s compelling, needs her help, and most intriguing of all, wears no Collar …
Seamus McGuire fears he’s gone crazy—feral—and become a killer. His only hope of getting away from the hunters and police on his tail is Bree, a human woman who not only knows a lot about Shifters but has great compassion for them.
Things are more complicated than they seem, however. Seamus is on a mission, to protect those in his care after the destruction of Kendrick’s compound of un-Collared Shifters. Seamus must keep it together and keep his charges hidden, but at the same time, he’s pulled to Bree as he’s never been pulled to a woman before. He needs to prove he’s innocent and not crazy before it’s too late for himself, Bree, and those he’s vowed to protect.
MY REVIEW
I never thought I would like a book where the main character is a shifter groupie!
They were a bit pathetic in the previous books. I had some sympathy for them, but surely they did not gain my respect.
The shifter's groupies in order to attract shifters, they are wearing fake cat or wolf's ears and a fake tail. They also paint their faces with fake whiskers, their nose black and they emphasise their stare using black pencil on their eyes. They finally wear cheap slutty clothes and visit shifter's bars almost every night.
Their main purpose is to attract shifters, although of course some prefer felines, some lupins and their makeup is according to their preferences. Does the whole thing sound ridiculous, or not? Because I believe it is :)
Anyway, Bree in this specific book is a cute groupie and she is actually also funny and fierce. When Bree smacks hard Dylan across his nose while he is still in his lion form, I wanted to clap my hands. Priceless!
She just wants to protect Seamus a collarless shifter and apparently her future mate who is trying to run and hide from the shifters from Austin shifter town. He does not want them to force a collar on his neck.
Hmm, there were many moments, I wanted to shout to him "Don't run man! Dylan, Tiger and Austin shifters are good people. I know them. They will look after you!" LOL
Well, you have to try this series (if you haven't read any of these books yet).
